Some regard religion as a sort of divine aura, which descends upon a man and encircles him, as silvery mists enwreath autumnal mountain tops. There is a sense in which this is true. No one would become a Christian without the direct aid of the Holy Spirit, any more than a bud would become a blossom without the influence of the sun; but yet personal religion is the result of personal choice.—BEECHER.
