The Jerusalem Bible

Critics called this the “Yahweh Bible” because it broke with the long tradition of translating the Hebrew YHWH, the name of God, as “The LORD.”

It actually uses “Yahweh”—more correct, although some people find it jarring, particularly in familiar passages like Psalm 23, “Yahweh is my shepherd.”

The translation itself is well done, and because it was done in cooperation with Catholic scholars, it includes the Apocrypha.

It also had extensive footnotes and study helps. First published in 1966 it was revised in 1985.
