Jesus healed several cases of blindness. John 9 tells the story of a man born blind, a beggar. Jesus spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and placed it on the man’s eyes. He sent him to wash in a nearby pool, and he came back with his sight.
The Jewish religious establishment, instead of praising the deed, asked the man to denounce the One who healed him! The man’s reply: “One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see” (v. 25).
