The Anointing

Tony Evans

God never once allowed our surroundings on Earth to get in the way of receiving messaging from heaven. That's why he's given every believer what the Bible calls the anointing.

God never once allowed our surroundings on Earth to get in the way of receiving messaging from heaven.

God never once allowed our surroundings on Earth to get in the way of receiving messaging from heaven.

In the midst of the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, I do have a problem. I'm surrounded by that which blocks me being able to receive an internet or satellite signal. In other words, my surroundings are getting in the way of me being able to pick up something from out there.

God never once allowed our surroundings on Earth to get in the way of receiving messaging from heaven. That's why he's given every believer what the Bible calls the anointing. The anointing is that work of the Holy Spirit where he delivers Heavenly messages to our Earthly environment.

It is this connection, as we abide with the spirit, that God can speak specifically into our Earthly circumstances, situations, challenges, difficulties, and need for clarity and guidance. To show us which way God wants us to move and how he wants us to take the next step in life.

Yes, we're surrounded by the rocks and valleys of Earth, but don't lose sight of Heaven because you leave the Holy Spirit by God. The Holy Spirit, the anointing, is the key to keep the messages of Heaven reaching you no matter where you are situated on Earth.

Don't leave home without it.

What can you do to inspire others to defend the truth with both courage and love?

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Fighting for the Truth and Love

John MacArthur
In a world where truth is under attack, few rise to defend it. But let's remember that our apathy won't be an excuse before Christ. In Revelation, we see how He rebuked the churches that tolerated falsehood. Let's do the same, bravely defend the truth.
If you find your conscience vanishing, you must realize the seriousness of your condition and repent; beseech God for a clear, functioning conscience

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Holy Hatred of Sin

John MacArthur
We desperately need to recover a holy hatred of sin. We need to do this corporately as a church, but we also need to do it individually as believers. Sin is surely not a pleasant subject to study or preach on, but it is necessary.
Our task is to do what the psalmist David did: He didn’t worry about “great matters” or things “too profound” for him.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Calm And Quiet

David Jeremiah
According to medical researchers at Duke University, there is a “vicious cycle” involving insomnia, anxiety, and depression. It’s sort of a “which came first: the chicken or the egg?” scenario.
When we learn His purposes and make them our prayers, we are giving Him the opportunity to act.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

The Rope of Prayer

David Jeremiah
Daniel was a man who communicated with heaven. He prayed fervently, consistently, and for the will of God. He knew nothing of praying only before meals, at bedtime, and when he really needed God’s help.
Depression is apt to turn us away from the ordinary commonplace things of God's creation

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

The Initiative Against Depression

Oswald Chambers
A human being is capable of depression, otherwise there would be no capacity for exaltation. There are things that are calculated to depress, things that are of the nature of death; and in taking an estimate of yourself, always take into account the capacity for depression.
