God as our spiritual home—what a thought! We can enjoy the safety of His walls, relish the warmth of His love, and experience the peace of His presence.
“Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.” Psalm 90:1
“There’s no place like home,” the old saying goes, and how true that is.
Whether it’s a cheap apartment or a mansion, if you’ve got a place where you can kick off your shoes and just be, a place where you are loved and safe and peaceful, you are beyond blessed.
Guess what? You do have such a place. The Bible says God is “our dwelling place.” When Moses called God “our dwelling place,” he was saying we can dwell “in God.”
Jesus said it this way: “Abide in me” (John 15:4 KJV), or “make me the place you live.”
God as our spiritual home—what a thought! We can enjoy the safety of His walls, relish the warmth of His love, and experience the peace of His presence.
When we’re weary, we can find rest. When we’ve been beat up by the world, we can find encouragement. Making our home in God means that we will come to know Him in deep and life-changing ways.
Because God is our heart’s true home, we can realize the truth of another popular saying: “Home is where the heart is.”
How is God your dwelling place, the place where you can feel peace?
Prayer:
Lord, You are my dwelling place, the only place I can find true rest, security, and peace. Thank You. Please help me to live my life in You. Amen.
