Charles R. "Chuck" Swindoll was born on October 18, 1935 in El Campo, Texas.

After his service in the Marine Corps, Charles Swindoll entered the Dallas Theological Seminary and graduated with several honors, including the Harry A. Harry Award for Exposition Preaching and the most outstanding Graduate School Award.

Charles Swindoll became a pastor in several churches throughout the United States, and later became president of Dallas Theological Seminary in 1994.

Charles Swindoll has written more than 60 Christian books and brochures and was editor-in-chief of The Living Bible Study Insights
