TROAS

TROAS

Port of Asia Minor, on the northwestern coast of Mysia. There Paul had a vision of a Macedonian man asking him for help (Acts 16:8-11; 2 Cor. 2:12).

Upon returning from his third missionary journey, the apostle stayed in Troas for seven days (Acts 20:6). During one of his stays, he left a cloak and parchments at Carpus’s house (2 Tim. 4:13).

Troas, a prosperous maritime city, center of communications between Macedonia and Asia Minor, was 24 km southwest of ancient Ilion (Troy). The ruins of Troas are located in Istanbul.
