PHAREZ
“rip”.
Son of Judah; one of the twins that Tamar gave birth to (Gen. 38:24-30). He was the founder of the clan named after him, from which came two clans, headed by his sons (Num. 26:20, 21; 1 Chron. 2: 4, 5).
Phares was one of the ancestors of David and Christ (Rt. 4:12-18; Mt. 1:3).
