PEKAIA

PEKAIA

“Jehovah has opened (the eyes).”
Son of Manahem, he succeeded him on the throne of Israel around the year 737 BC, reigning for two years, and adopting the cult of the golden calf that Jeroboam I had instituted.

Pekaiah was murdered in his palace in Samaria by Pekah, one of the captains of his army, who usurped the throne (2 Kings 15:23-26).
