The capture of the Savior immediately after two manifestations of His Divinity (Luke 22:51; John 18:6), reveals the blindness and obstinacy of the sinner.

We must keep in mind that only John, who was known to the family, mentions his name, while only Luke, who was a doctor, alludes to the healing of the ear. "Leave this far," seems to mean "leave me free for a moment for this object." Christ does not miss the opportunity to do good.
