LEVIATHAN
“spiral wound.”
Name used in Hebrew poetry; Many expositors provisionally identify it as a crocodile, but it is evident that its characteristics do not coincide with it (Jb. 41; Ps. 74:14).
Considering the great antiquity of Job, and the discovery of human footprints along with dinosaur footprints in the Paluxy River in Texas, as well as the cataclysmic pattern of earth history, there is no reason not to accept the presence of a remnant of terrestrial and marine dinosaurs, such as the leviathan, which would be included in Gn. 1 within the category of “great sea monsters”.
