LASSO

Snares and traps were placed on the ground to trap birds, animals, and even people (Jb. 18:9; Am. 3:5).
The terms “Mõkêsh” and “pah” are generally translated as “noose.”

In the NT it is always used metaphorically, referring to the ruin of those who fall into a trap; on two occasions it refers to the “snare of the devil” (1 Tim. 3:7; 2 Tim. 2:26).
