Expression frequently used in the OT (Is. 54:5; Hos. 12:6, etc.), more particularly in the pre-exilic books (Samuel, Kings, Psalms, Isaiah, Amos). This compound name becomes synonymous with the almighty Creator, the supreme dominator, the Owner of the entire cosmos.
