JASON
(Gr. “Iasõn”, “who heals”; the Hellenizing Jews put the name of Jason instead of Joshua, Jesúa or Jesus).
Christian, relative of Paul (Rom. 16:21).
He is possibly the same one who, living in Thessalonica, hosted Paul and Silas in his house when they passed through that city.
His Jewish adversaries and accomplices brought Jason and other believers before the magistrates for having offered hospitality to undesirable foreigners. Jason and the others were only released after paying bail (Acts 17:5-9).
