HORN

HORN

It was used as a trumpet (Josh. 6:13) or a flask for oil (1 Sam. 16:1; 1 Kings 1:39). It was a symbol of power and prosperity (1 Sam. 2:10; Ps. 89:24).
In Ps. 75:4, 5, the expression indicates arrogance.

The “horns” or prominent corners of the altar were considered especially sacred (Ex. 29:12; Lev. 4:7; Ps. 118:27; 1 Kings 1:50; 2:28).
