“Faithful”. (a) An Israelite from the tribe of Judah with a great reputation for wisdom; he lived during the reign of Solomon (1 Kings 4:31; 1 Chron. 2:6). He composed Psalm 88, which is a plaintive complaint.
(b) Cantor, during the reign of David; son of Joel, grandson of the prophet Samuel, and a Levite descendant of Kohath (1 Chron. 6:33; 15:17). He played the copper cymbal (1 Chron. 15:19). He became one of David’s best musicians (1 Chron. 16:41, 42).
