HELCAT
“Part of a piece of land, field.” Population of the border of Asher (Jos. 19:25), was assigned to the Levites descendants of Gershon (Jos. 21:31). In 1 Chron. 6:75 he is called Huccoch, probably due to a poor transmission of the text. It had been identified by Yerka, 13 km west-northwest of Acre (31° 57′ N, 35° 12′ E), but Tell el-Harbaj is currently proposed.
