GOZAN
Region of Mesopotamia to which some of the Israelites were taken.
“The river Gozan” (1 Kings 17:6; 18:11) could mean the river that passes through Gozan, identified as the Habor, or Khabour. Located at 37° N, 41° E (2 Kings 17:6; 18:11; 19:12; 1 Chron. 5:26; Is. 37:12).
Ptolemy mentions a Median city called Gauzania in these surroundings.
