FRONTALS

FRONTALS

They consisted of four pieces of parchment covered with calfskin and inscribed with the following passages of the law: Ex. 13:2-10, 11-16; Deut. 6:4-9; 11:13-21.

From the box or box, where the Scriptures are, two straps hang, tightened around the head. Devout Jews put them on when doing morning prayers.

There are several allusions to frontals in Prov. 4:21; 6:20, etc.
In many cases the frontals became superstition and mere formula.
