ELIZABETH
“God is my fullness.”
(a) Daughter of Amminadab and wife of Aaron (Ex. 6:23). She was from the tribe of Judah, and her marriage to Aaron united the priestly and royal tribes.
(b) A righteous woman, of the family of Aaron, wife of Zechariah, and mother of John the Baptist. Upon being visited by Mary, she was filled with the Holy Spirit, and she greeted Mary as “the mother of my Lord” (Luke 1:5-57).
She was part of the God-fearing remnant of which we are given a glimpse in the early chapters of Luke’s gospel.
