EGYPT TORRENT

EGYPT TORRENT

Great wadi (Heb. “nahal”) that formed the southwestern boundary of Canaan (Num. 34:5; 1 Kings 8:65; 2 Kings 24:7) and that of Judah (Josh. 15:4, 47) . The Assyrians and Hebrews gave it the same name and identified it as the border.

It is currently known as Wadi el-Arish; It is generally dry, but when heavy desert rains fall it is fed by many tributaries and acquires great flow.

One of these tributaries passes through Kadesh-barnea. The Egyptian torrent empties into the Mediterranean, 80 km south of Gaza.
