EDOM
The Edomites taken collectively (Num. 20:18, 20, 21; Am. 1:6; Mal. 1:4).
Region occupied by the descendants of Edom; originally called Mount Seir (Gen. 32:3; Num. 24:18), and later known as Idumea. Mountainous and extremely rugged region south of Moab.
In Moses’ time it had fields, vineyards, wells and a road (Num. 20:17-19). Its important cities were Shelah, the capital, Ezion-geber and Elath.
