BOW AND ARROWS
The bow existed as an offensive weapon already in the times of the patriarchs (Gen. 27:3; 48:22). At first it was made of wood, later reinforced with ties. In later times bows were made of fine woods and leather.
They were also mounted on bronze (Jb. 20:24), and on horn, which were sometimes arranged in a double curve, imitating the horns of oxen.
Arrows were generally made of light canes, with tips of flint, bronze or iron. The Benjamites, among the Hebrews, were masters in the use of the bow (Judg. 20).
