From this letter the letter O of the Latin alphabet is derived.
(b) Particle that enters into the formation of several geographical names and that means "source" or "eye of water."
(c) It is the name of a town assigned to the tribe of Simeon (Josh. 19:7; 1 Chron. 4:32) and which had previously been the inheritance of Judah (Josh. 15:32).
It was one of those reserved for the priests in the territories of the different tribes (Josh. 21:16). It was located near Beersheba.
