STREET

STREET

In ancient cities the streets were generally narrow and winding. They were called by their most outstanding characteristic and, thus, there were streets called “wide”, “straight”, “middle”, “old”, etc. (Ezra 10:13; Pr. 7:8; Jer. 6:11; Acts 9:11; 12:10).

There were streets made solely for the transit of people, and there were those specialized in a certain type of occupation or trade; Thus there was that of carpenters, that of jewelers, that of bakers, etc. (Jer. 37:21).
