Jesus’ first miracle, according to John’s gospel, was at a wedding in the town of Cana, where the hosts ran out of wine. Jesus turned six large jars of water into wine—not just ordinary wine, but wine so good that someone said to the groom, “You have kept the good wine until now.”
And, says John, Jesus thus “manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him” (John 2:1–11). Like all of Jesus’ miracles, this was not a divine power “showing off ” but a man of compassion using His power to fill a human need.
