To show that human nature hasn’t changed over the centuries, Proverbs 7 presents the sordid picture of the temptress luring the young man into sin. “‘Come, let us take our fill of love until morning; let us delight ourselves with love. For my husband is not at home.’ . . .With her enticing speech she caused him to yield, with her flattering lips she seduced him” (vv. 18–21).
