The American Bible Society

This nondenominational group is noted for making free or inexpensive available Bibles. It was founded in 1816 in New York, and America’s first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Jay, was one of its presidents. The ABS sponsored the modern translation as the Good News Bible (or Today’s English Version).

Why is this analogy important to us today? It is because we are the sheep and Jesus is the Shepherd.
