Ram’s Horn/Shofar

The horn used in Israel was literally a ram’s horn, and its sound played a role in the downfall of the city of Jericho (Josh. 6:4) and in temple worship (1 Chron. 15:28; Ps. 81:3). Jews today use the ram’s horn, or shofar, on certain holy days such as Yom Kippur.
