People of the Book

Muslims refer to Jews and Christians with this term, also calling them “People of the Covenant.” In Muslim eyes, People of the Book are more highly regarded than pagan idol worshippers.

Muslims believe that Jews and Christians received holy scriptures from God (Allah), but these scriptures were later corrupted, which is why (so Muslims say) the Bible disagrees with the Koran (which they believe is error-free and holy).
